What You’ll Learn

  • Indenting. I used both the embossing tool and a sharp white Polychromos to indent the leaves. I also used indentations to create the striations around the edge of the watermelon.

  • Highlights. The highlight is an important focal point on the watermelon.

  • Shadow. I drew the shadow in real time, so you will see this process from start to finish. You may know that I don’t like to draw shadows- they are out of my comfort zone. But this one turned out great and gives me confidence to do it again.
