Plums on a Branch
Hello! Welcome to the Plums on a Branch Colored Pencil Tutorial series!
When I was drawing these plums, my focus was on realism. I was focused on making them look as realistic as possible- with an artistic flair. There are 2 different real-time sections and I explain in detail what I am doing. In one, I am drawing one of the leaves. In the other, I am drawing one of the plums. And, finally, there is a 1 hour overview for the entire piece with voiceover.
This was drawn on Legion, Rising Museum Mount Board, 2-ply.
I used Prismacolor, Faber Castell Polychromos, Luminance, Derwent Lightfast, Derwent Drawing and Holbein Colored Pencils. If you don’t own all of these brands, I have a handy Brand Translator that you can use to help you choose the right substitutes.
The pencil was blended with Utrecht NOOD, Odorless Paint Thinner.
This tutorial series includes a reference image, line drawing/outline, a supplies list, a pencil list and 3 video-based lessons.
Have fun!
