Big Red Dahlia

Hello!  Welcome to the Big Red Dahlia Tutorial series!

If you are wanting to draw something truly stunning, I would highly recommend this tutorial.

This was drawn on Rising Museum Mount Board using Prismacolor, Faber Castell Polychromos, Derwent Lightfast, Caran d’Ache Luminance and Holbein Colored Pencils.  The pencil was blended with Utrecht NOOD, No Odor Paint Thinner.

I have listed this as an intermediate/advanced tutorial because much of this is not shown in real-time. I show you a single petal and several center petals in real-time and you must have the skills to translate what you learn from those lessons into the rest of the piece. I also used a licensed reference and many different brands of pencils. All of which I try not to do for my beginners. More advanced artists will be able to make color choices based on the pencils they own.

This tutorial series includes a link to my reference image, a line drawing/outline, a supplies list, a pencil list and 4 video-based lessons.
